wanderlust... always

you guys, there are so many places I'd rather be right now. and I don't just mean other than be at work as I write this. I mean, other than in London while she slowly bakes to death. ok, so I escaped Australia because I am notoriously bad at heat. I just cannot cope.

I don't like to sweat. I am a tights-girl. and I ain't some skinny broad who's keen to bare all in order to remain cool. no no no. so, how does one cope in this goddamn heat? well, by dreaming of cooler climates (which is totally ironic as that's exactly how I ended up here in the first damn place)(who knew London had an actual summer?!), obviously. and who could blame me when there are so many fabulous places to visit.

Salzburg is number one. Rebekah and I are planning a jaunt later in the year (around my birthday) so we can both fulfil a life-long obsession with flailing on a snowy mountaintop. this may or may not have something to do with the sound of music. who could say? not I. (well ok, it is.)

Reykjavik is number two. can't say it, but have all of the want to go there. and, if Iceland isn't cold and frosty then it ought to be done for false advertising (although, if The Mighty Duck films have taught me anything, it's that "Greenland is covered with ice, and Iceland is very nice").

which brings me nicely to Greenland, for reasons mentioned above. jokes. but Russia, and not for any kind of political reason, obvs. because, the kremlin. and the vodka. mostly the vodka.

then further afield we have Canada and East Coast USA. because a girl should never stop dreaming about NYC, amiright? I'll get there one day kids, I'll get there one day....

so tell me, are you coping in this heat?
and, if you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

  1. If you came to the USA I would insist we meet and you visit! I live in Chicago though but NYC is of course a perfect first stop ;) Also I went to Salzburg about 2 years ago and it was soooo beautiful, one of my favorite places Ive ever visited. I love mountains, it was literally just breathtaking.

  5. New York and Canada are deceptively hot. I burnt in both Vancouver and Manhattan this year. Forewarned is forearmed!
